a first time mom
As a first time single mom I knew I would need the support of a birth doula throughout my pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. Puri started working with me early on, always very attentive and helping me understand what I could expect as my pregnancy evolved. Her support & guidance gave me confidence & encouragement as the due date came closer. Puri was such an amazing part of my birth experience, I couldn´t have done it without her.
My labor lasted on and off for 4 days and she was there for me every step of the way. Puri´s expert knowledge, loving support and calm presence was exactly what I needed throughout this exhausting process. Her lactation support and postpartum visits were also very valuable and helped me process all that had happened. I will never forget it and I'm forever grateful. I cannot recommend her enough, If I am lucky enough to have another child, I will definitely want Puri by my side.

a positive difference
Puri’s role in the birth of our first daughter cannot be overstated. I can without a doubt say that Puri’s presence made an enormous positive difference in our birth experience and recommend her services to anyone considering hiring a doula. She filled every gap in hospital care (and the at home / uber to the hospital during rush hour while I was having frequent contractions portions) -- the experience would have been completely different without her. Her suggested altered positioning during contractions helped speed them along and she patiently massaged a “hot spot” on my back for hours once I’d gotten my epidural. My husband and I were practically in tears with gratitude when we had our final visit with her after we got home from the hospital. She will be one of the first people we call when we decide to expand our family.

a great team
Having Puri with us for the birth of our first child was the best decision we could have ever made. We fell in love with her from the very first moment. We followed our instincts and we weren’t wrong. She is a great listener and she gave her best to understand, support and respect our wishes for my labor. Puri is professional, diligent and responsive. She answered all our questions without judging and did not hesitate to do some extra research on certain topics to provide as much information as possible tailored to our specific needs. On top of being a doula, she is also a lactation consultant, which is a big plus.
She guided me when everything began, including calls overnight, and was on my side until the end with kindness and compassion. Thanks to the different positions that she suggested doing at home, my contractions got a regular pattern and I arrived at the hospital well dilated. It was incredibly helpful and relieving having with us someone with experience who could explain what was happening at each stage so we didn’t panic and felt more confident when making decisions.
During my labor and delivery, she was there for everything I needed: holding my hand, massaging my back, helping me when taking a shower and so much more. Doctors, midwives, and nurses come to the room and go. You are a lot of time by yourself and that’s one of the reasons why having a doula is so important.
Another key highlight of my experience with Puri is that she made a great team with my husband, never shadowing him but working together to support me. And her kind help did not finish the moment my baby boy was born. She has been there for all the questions and concerns, in particular, related to breastfeeding, I’ve had until today.
My labor would have been much tougher and longer without her. If we decided to have a second child, I would love to have her again in my team without any doubt. If you are looking for a doula you can trust and with whom you can feel comfortable and cared for in such an intimate moment, you have already found it.

a birthing story
Having Puri be part of our birthing journey was just invaluable.
Puri was not only there for us during the labor and delivery, but she was also there for us before and after and helped us achieve the birthing journey we wished for.
I can say with confidence that without her, our birthing story would not have been the same.
When we were feeling insecure about our main caregiver choice, she gave us both the option and the confidence to switch to another caregiver. Her extensive network, experience and willingness to get the most reliable and valuable information, helped tremendously as she provided a list of other caregiver possibilities. Thanks to her recommendations, we found the caregiver that suited perfectly our needs.
When we discovered that our baby was breached, again she made strong recommendations based on experience and research.
Puri was always available for any questions we had, and had the right answers, always taking into consideration our philosophy and approach to birthing.
During labor and delivery, Puri arrived at our home almost immediately. Thanks to her support, we were able to stay home for a little longer before going to the hospital. She stayed with us all night and suggested positions that allowed for a smoother experience. She was so reassuring, nurturing, both present and at the same time gave us space when we needed it. She had the right words that made us feel confident until the birth of our daughter. She stayed until breastfeeding was going well.
After the birth of our daughter, Puri remained a strong moral support, always staying in touch and answering any kind of questions we had on baby care, breastfeeding, etc. She truly cared.
If we were to have another baby, we would definitely ask Puri to be a part of it again

SUPPORTING A positive INDUCTION
I met Puri before I got pregnant while I was visiting a friend who had just given birth. Right from that moment I knew that I wanted her to be my doula. That is how wonderful she is! Me and my husband met with her three times before delivery and she was available for me when I had any questions throughout my pregnancy. She is bilingual Spanish and English, which was perfect for us, as I am a native Spanish speaker and my husband only speaks English.
Puri gave me the knowledge and confidence to advocate for the type of pregnancy and birth that I wanted, which I know I wouldn’t have done without her. I ended up having to be induced and the weeks leading to the induction she was an amazing resource both emotionally and informatively. She is extremely knowledgeable of hospitals and birthing centers. When they scheduled our labor, she told us to call the hospital in advance that same morning and thanks to that we were able to stay at home until a room was available instead of having to wait for hours in the waiting room.
Puri was indispensable during labor and delivery. She was a calming presence and massaged my back for 8 hours straight. She was by our side when we needed her, but also respectful enough to make me and my husband feel it was our intimate moment. She is also a lactation consultant and when Lucy was born she guided me on how to get her to latch successfully. I will always remember the pieces of mango she gave me after I gave birth because they felt like the most delicious fruit I have ever had! Even my OB during my postpartum visit said, “Your doula was wonderful!.” To this day, my husband still says that hiring Puri is the best money that we spent
